WE(Jeff Powers & Amber Welch)and Miakoda Siberians are located in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia. Growing up we both have had different breeds including the Brittany Spaniel, English Springer Spaniel, Doberman Pinscher and several different mix breeds.
When I was younger I remember seeing movies with sled dogs and wanting to go sledding. Our family bought an unregistered Siberian and sadly lost him at six months. Sometime later I read an article on Karen Ramstead and her dogs and started looking at her site. I then met Brenda Potter at a training course with two of her dogs Levi and Freya. Freya was a girl Brenda had just gotten from Karen Ramstead. We talked to Brenda about getting a girl from Levi and Freya and when the one puppy arrived it was a boy! Weaver, he is very special to us! Levi and Freya had another breeding later on with three girls and two boys and so have Ceilidh a very sweet and loving girl!
We now own a Cocker Spaniel, Siberian Huskies, Cats and an Iguana. We love doing many activities with our dogs including sledding, showing, obedience, agility and scent training. We hope our dogs and puppies will do well in these areas as well having great temperaments and being healthy!
We have puppies occasionally when we do a breeding to add a puppy to Miakoda. All of the dogs used for breeding have their eyes cleared by a certified ophthalmologist and hips OFA cleared. All dogs and puppies are registered with the CKC(Canadian Kennel Club). Puppies are sold as pets with a four year written health guarantee, they are tattooed, de-wormed and vaccinated as appropriate for the age of the puppy.We do not ship puppies. Siberian Huskies are a wonderful breed and we love them very much but they might not be the best breed for everyone.
